How often should I change my Notre Dame password and how do I do so?

The Strong Password policy currently requires all users to change their Notre Dame password every 180 days. To maintain maximum security, the OIT recommends changing your password at least once every 60 to 90 days. You can change your password using the tool available at: https://password.nd.edu

Your password should consist of a mixture of numerals and letters and should be at least 8 characters in length. You can make your password stronger by mixing upper and lower-case letters. Choose passwords that will be thoroughly obscure to anyone but you. Avoid the easy-to-guess words like irish or football, etc. Don’t use your name or birthdate or any part of your Social Security number in your password.
