Does the Sensitive Number Finder actually show files or just give a number of the possible files with sensitive numbers in them? How do you delete the numbers but keep the file?

The resultsshow the portion of the file where the Social Security Number or credit card-like number is found. It also shows a count of files found which may contain such numbers. SENF can safely delete whole files, but to remove only the sensitive number, the file must be located, opened and the number deleted.

The Sensitive Number Finder section of this website provides further advice and a tutorial on running the Sensitive Number Finder and analyzing the results. If you have additional questions, please contact your departmental IT support or the OIT Help Desk at 631-8111.
